The Bonefish
The Bonefish belongs to the Albulidae family. The maximum size of the bonefish is 104 cm and the maximum weight is 10 kg. They can live up to 10 years. It breeds from November to May. It can be fished all year round. Many fossil remains, several million years old and dating from the dinosaur era, show that the tarpon has the particularity of having changed very little during its long existence. It can be recognized by its streamlined body covered with large silver scales and its mouth with a prominent lower jaw with many small pointed teeth. These characteristics seem to have inspired the different appellations attributed to it according to its geographical distribution: "Silver King" in America or the "Great Scale" in the West Indies.

The Sheepshead belongs to the Sparidae family. Although it reaches a maximum size of about 76 cm and 22 lbs (9.6 kg), the adult sheepshead is most often about 5 to 3.6 kg and 35 cm long. The maximum known life span of the sheepshead is at least 20 years. They spawn in early spring. They can be fished all year round with the best season from December to April. The sheepshead has a deep oval body with a blunt snout and a small, almost horizontal mouth. The posterior nostril is split in appearance. The dorsal and anal fins include short, strong spines. The second spine of the anal fin is larger. The pectoral fins are long and extend beyond the anal opening when pressed (close to the body). The caudal fin is slightly forked. The adult sheepshead is silvery to greenish-yellow and has an olive back. There are five or six dark vertical crossbars on each side, which are the most distinct in young individuals. The caudal and pectoral fins are greenish, while the dorsal, anal and ventral fins are dark or black.

The Cero Fish belongs to the Scombridae family. The maximum size known for the Cero fish is 83 cm and a maximum weight of 7.8 kg and its usual size is about 38 cm. It can live to be 11 years old. It reproduces from April to October in general. It is abundant from October to December. The cero fish has an elongated and streamlined body which is well suited for swimming at speeds of up to 48 km/ h. The body is covered with small scales; the lateral line being inclined towards the caudal peduncle. The caudal fin is lunar and the pelvic fins are relatively long. The scales extend over the pectoral fins. The spiny and soft dorsal fins are separated, with the soft dorsal fin corresponding to the anal fin just below. A series of pinnules follows each fin and three pins on each side of the caudal peduncle. The swim bladder is absent in the cero fish. The back is iridescent bluish green with silvery sides and belly. A semi-lateral bronze band extends from the pectoral fin to the base of the caudal fin. There are several rows of yellow-orange streaks with yellow spots forming lines above and below the sideband. The front third of the first dorsal fin is bluish black.

The Weakfish belongs to the Scianidae family. The weight reaches 1 m long and 9 kg of weight. It has an average life span of 12 years. It spawns from April to August. It can be fished from mid-April to the end of May, then again in August and September. Weakfish differs from other species in its genus by several meritorious characteristics: the anal fin on Weakfish has 11 or 12 soft rays, 11 to 13 gills, and the lateral line scales are between 76 and 86. In adults, the coloration of the dorsal scales is dark green and blends into the silvery underside. The coloring of the sides can range from purple, green, blue and gold spots that are usually found on the upper half of the fish. The fins are yellowish in color. The basic shape of the child's head is elongated and ends at a sharp point. The mouth is wide and oblique, with the lower jaw projecting beyond the upper jaw. The dorsal fin of fish is thorny, but the spines are flexible and usually the third or fourth spine is the longest. This snapper is similar to other members of the Lutjanidae family, as it has the same deep body and double dorsal fin. Its caudal fin is rather truncated and its pectoral fin is long. The anal fin is rounded. This snapper is often confused with the northern red snapper (Lutjanus campechanus), but the black comma-shaped mark at the base of the pectoral fins is a distinctive feature of the black fin snapper. In addition, the blackfin snapper has a rounded anal fin that contrasts with the pointed anal fin of the red snapper. The black-finned snapper is usually red, silvery red below, with yellowish caudal, anal and pelvic fins. There is a distinct dark comma-shaped mark at the base of the pectoral fins, giving this fish its common name. Juveniles resemble adults, but have a large bright yellow area on the upper part of the caudal pendulum. The canines of the upper jaw are larger than those of the lower jaw.
